The Koz

Dave Kozlowski, one of the first seventeen Master USPTA professionals in the world, has been lecturing at national and international conventions for the past three decades.  Kozlowski is the creator of two instructional tennis videos:  “Master Your Tennis Motor Memory” and “Fundamentally Sound Tennis”.  In September of 2001, he was named the USPTA national Pro of the Year.  “Koz” was also named the 1999 USTA Broadcaster of the Year.  In November of 2003, he was one of seven American journalists selected by the USTA to go to Moscow to cover the Federation Cup. He is the executive producer and host of “Inside Tennis with the “Koz” which airs on The Tennis Channel. The Koz also does a weekly Tennis Podcast show "Inside Kevin and The Koz" with Kevin McClure.

Koz has served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Florida Twist (World Team Tennis), Monica Seles, Chris Evert, Martina Navratilova, Patrick McEnroe, and Jimmy Arias exhibitions.  He has done anchor and play-by-play for The Sunshine/Connolly Continental Cup, The Owl Foundation (Venus vs. Serena Williams), USTA Men’s and Women’s Challengers) and The USPTA International Championships.

The 1978 Alabama Pro of the Year and the 1997 Florida Pro of the Year has been a published author of Tennis Magazine tips since 1975 and columnist for some several national tennis publications.  He is the original coach of former WTA players Carling Bassett (former # 5 WTA) and Shawn Stafford (former top 50 WTA).  His three children (Davidson, Kimberly, and Carolyn Virginia) have achieved tournament success nationally and internationally at the junior, college and professional level.

World Tennis Magazine recognized him as “A consummate professional with credentials and an ideal temperament” and cited his tennis programs as “one of the finest family tennis programs in any American tennis destination.”  Kozlowski is a member of the National Babolat advisory board.
